Here’s the roundup of state college lacrosse games played Thursday through Saturday.
Division I men
Michigan 11, No. 1 Maryland 10, 3OT: Nick Roode scored in triple overtime to lead the visiting Wolverines (5-4, 1-0 Big Ten) to an upset win over the Terps (7-1, 0-1) on Saturday for the program’s first victory over a top-ranked team. Maryland rallied to tie the game on two goals by Bryce Ford in the fourth quarter, but neither side could generate any offense after that until Roode scored with 1:06 remaining in the third extra period. In fact, the Terps held the Wolverines scoreless for more than 25 minutes before the game-winner. The game featured eight lead changes and seven ties. Braden Erksa (1 goal, 4 assists), Daniel Kelly (3 goals, 1 assist) and Eric Spanos (2 goals, 1 assist) led the Terps’ offense, while Logan McNaney made nine saves. Jack Dowd, a graduate transfer from Salisbury, also scored his first goal as a Terp. Ryan Cohen had two goals and two assists and Hunter Taylor made 13 saves for Michigan.

Rutgers 11, No. 11 Johns Hopkins 8: The visiting Scarlet Knights (5-5, 1-0 Big Ten) scored five straight goals to open the second half to turn a 6-5 deficit into an 11-6 lead in a win over the Blue Jays (6-3, 0-1) on Saturday. Charlie Iler scored three goals and Hunter Chauvette added a goal and two assists for Hopkins, which suffered its third loss in the past five games.
UMBC 12, Albany 12, OT: Tyler Barnett scored the game-tying and game-winning goals to complete a wild comeback win for the Retrievers (4-2, 2-0 America East) over the host Great Danes (2-7, 0-2) on Saturday. UMBC trailed 10-4 in the third quarter and 11-6 entering the fourth before surging back. The Retrievers outscored Albany 6-1 in the fourth, including a natural hat trick from Connor Chick (five goals) and a goal from Barnett (3 goals, 1 assist) with 1:43 remaining to tie the game and force overtime. Jordan Galloway added two goals and three assists and Brady Smith made eight saves for UMBC.
Lafayette 11, Loyola Maryland 10: Riley Sullivan scored the game-winning goal with 6:49 left in the fourth quarter to lead the visiting Leopards (6-3, 2-2 Patriot League) over the Greyhounds (0-8, 0-3) on Saturday. Brady Quinn and Mason Cook each scored two goals for Loyola, while Matthew Minicus finished with a goal and three assists.
Marist 13, Mount St. Mary’s 12: The host Mountaineers (2-7) scored four goals in the final 3:11 to pull within one, but it wasn’t enough in a loss to the Red Foxes (4-5) on Saturday. Mount St. Mary’s trailed 11-5 entering the fourth quarter and nearly pulled off a stunning comeback, but it couldn’t find the equalizer after Aidan Kilduff scored with 30 seconds left. Brody Atkinson and Jack Smith each scored three goals for the Mount, who suffered a fifth straight loss.
Navy 9, Holy Cross 8, OT: Carter Ash scored the game-tying goal with four minutes left in regulation and Mac Haley scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the visiting Midshipmen (6-3, 2-1 Patriot League) over the Crusaders (3-7, 1-3) on Saturday. Haley finished with three goals and two assists and Paul Garza scored four goals for Navy.
Towson 13, Stony Brook 12, OT: The host Tigers (3-5, 2-0 Coastal Athletic Association) rallied for an overtime victory for the second straight week, erasing an 11-9 deficit entering the fourth quarter to beat the Seawolves (4-5, 0-2) on Saturday. After Stony Brook took a 12-11 lead with about six minutes left, Owen Scott scored the game-tying goal with 2:53 to play and Josh Webber scored the game-winner in overtime. Mikey Weisshaar (Spalding) scored five goals and Chop Gallagher had four assists for Towson.
Division II men
Bentley 12, Frostburg State 5: The host Falcons (4-2) extended their two-goal lead with a 5-0 run that spanned both halves and beat the Bobcats (3-5) on Thursday. Bentley got three goals each from Will Adams, Hunter Smith and David Gagnon. Logan Covey (Essex CC) made nine saves for Frostburg State.
Division III men
No. 17 Dickinson 15, Washington College 8: Cam Carrigan and Ben Dickinson each had two goals and an assist, but it wasn’t enough for the visiting Shoremen (6-3, 0-1 Centennial Conference) in a loss to the Red Devils (4-4, 1-0) on Saturday.
Elizabethtown 17, Goucher 6: Gianni Karam scored three goals and Jacob Morgan had two goals and an assist for the host Gophers (6-3, 0-2 Landmark Conference) in a loss to the Blue Jays (4-4, 2-0) on Saturday.
St. Mary’s 26, Penn College 7: Keegan Preis and Aiden Doyle each finished with six goals and five assists to lead the host Seahawks (6-3, 1-0 United East) to a blowout win over the Wildcats (6-3, 0-1) on Saturday. Jake Levey (4 goals, 1 assist), Nate Hochrein (3 goals, 1 assist) and Declan Horton (1 goal, 3 assists) also chipped in on offense.
Chatham 19, Hood 14: Jay Lanigan scored four goals and Isiac Nafziger added a hat trick and an assist for the host Blazers (5-1) in a loss to the Cougars (5-4) on Saturday.
Haverford 19, McDaniel 7: Matt Richards scored six goals to lead the host Fords (8-1, 1-0 Centennial Conference) over the Green Terror (4-5, 0-1) on Friday. Haverford took a 4-0 lead and never trailed. Jason Fritz and Aidan Skelly each scored twice for McDaniel.
Division I women
No. 3 Northwestern 16, No. 4 Maryland 4: The host Wildcats (8-1, 2-0 Big Ten) took an 8-1 lead after one quarter and cruised to a win over the Terps (6-2, 2-1) on Saturday. Maisy Clevenger had a goal and an assist for Maryland, which had its six-game winning streak ended. It marks the fewest goals the Terps have scored in a game since a 15-4 loss to Virginia on March 13, 2007, in coach Cathy Reese’s first season.
No. 17 Loyola Maryland 20, Colgate 9: Chase Boyle scored six goals and Morgan Quade and Mim Suares-Jury each chipped in three goals and an assist to lead the visiting Greyhounds (6-5, 3-0 Patriot League) over the Raiders (4-6, 0-3) on Saturday. Gabby Stapleton, Ava Kane and Caroline Gerosa each scored two goals, while Georgia Latch added a pair of assists for Loyola, which bounced back from a loss to Syracuse on Wednesday.
Mount St. Mary’s 11, Canisius 10: Anna Salerno scored the game-winning goal with 18 seconds left to lead the visiting Mountaineers (5-4, 1-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) over the Golden Griffins (3-5, 0-1) on Saturday. Salerno (four goals) also scored the game-tying goal with 6:15 to play. Anna McQuay scored three goals and Mackenzi Furlong added a goal and two assists for Mount St. Mary’s.
No. 10 Princeton 17, Towson 13: Visiting Princeton (7-1) went on a 6-0 run that spanned both halves in a win over Towson (5-4) on Friday. Princeton was led by McKenzie Blake with a game-high six goals and Haven Dora and Jami MacDonald each scored three goals. Towson was led by Milana Zizakovic with five goals and Luca DeMaio with three goals.
UMBC 20, New Hampshire 11: Grace Bruce (Century) scored a game-high six goals to lead the visiting Retrievers (9-1, 2-0 America East) over the Wildcats (2-7, 0-2) on Friday. UMBC opened with a 4-0 run and never trailed. Other top performers for the Retrievers included: Emily Knapp (Maryvale, 4 goals, 1 assist), Katana Nelson (3 goals), Lauryn Warfield (North Harford, 3 goals), Tess Curtis (3 goals).
Division III women
Elizabethtown 22, Goucher 5: Camden West had a goal and an assist for the Gophers (5-4, 0-1 Landmark Conference) in a loss to the host Blue Jays (6-2, 1-0) on Saturday.
Muhlenberg 7, McDaniel 5: The host Green Terror (5-4, 0-1 Centennial Conference) rallied to pull within two with 1:15 left after trailing 6-1, but it wasn’t enough in a loss to the Mules (7-1, 1-0) on Saturday.
No. 25 Messiah 16, St. Mary’s 9: Ella Baynes and Colin Horton each scored three goals for the Seahawks (2-6) in a loss to the host Falcons (6-3) on Saturday.
UMass Boston 19, Notre Dame (Maryland) 1: The visiting Beacons (5-2) scored 17 goals in a row and beat the Gators (0-8) on Friday. Ariana Rodriguez scored the lone goal for Notre Dame with 5:56 left in the game. Makaylah Reyes (Chesapeake Science Point) made eight saves for the Gators.
