The Tides and IronBirds picked up wins while Bowie was shut out
Triple-A: Norfolk Tides 9, Worcester Red Sox 5
Cade Povich pitched six innings for the Tides with three runs allowed. He walked two and struck out six, and all three runs scored in the first two innings. He surrendered a two-run homer in the first and a solo homer in the second. His final line: 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 6 K.
Down 3-0 in the fourth inning, the Tides got to business chipping away and a got to a 5-3 lead in the eighth. Most of this was the work of Daniel Johnson, who had four hits and three RBI. Hudson Haskin and Billy Cook both knocked in a run as well. Haskin had a three-hit day.
Relief pitcher Kaleb Ort blew the lead in the bottom of the eighth but the Tides scored four in the ninth to go ahead for good. Newly acquired Blake Hunt homered and Connor Norby hit a bases-loaded double.
Jackson Holliday reached base twice with a double and and a walk, and he made an error in the field. Heston Kjerstad singled, doubled, and walked.

Double-A: Richmond Flying Squirrels (SFG) 2, Bowie Baysox 0
All of the scoring in this game came on one swing of the bat. Baysox starter Cameron Weston hit a batter and then gave up a two-run homer in the third inning. Weston allowed just two hits in his four innings of work. Ryan Long pitched followed with five shutout innings.
The Baysox outhit the Squirrels eight to four but were just 1-for-7 with RISP and and had only one extra-base hit, a triple by Dylan Beavers. Beavers was the only batter with two hits. Samuel Basallo went 1-for-4.
High-A: Aberdeen IronBirds 7, Jersey Shore BlueClaws (PHI) 5
Edgar Portes had a great start for the IronBirds. He pitched six innings on just 66 pitches with just two singles. He walked two and struck out six. The 21-year-old has spent most of the season coming out of the bullpen, but this was his second straight start and so far, so good. His last was five shutout innings, also with six strikeouts.
The IronBirds took seven walks in the game but had just six hits. Matthew Etzel led the way with a sac fly and two hits including a double. He also stole two bases and now has 23 on the year. Tonight is his 40th game. Elio Prado homered to knock in two runs. Both Enrique Bradfield and Creed Willems were hitless.
The IronBirds took a five-run lead into the ninth and almost blew their lead. They gave up three runs before Deivy Cruz got the final out with the bases loaded.
Low-A: Columbia Fireflies (KCR) 10, Delmarve Shorebirds 8
The Shorebirds used seven pitchers in this game and only Grabiel Salazar got out without allowing a run. So shout out to him! Starting pitcher Blake Money gave up two runs on two walks and five hits in just three innings. He did strike out five.
The offense outhit the Fireflies 13-12, but Shorebirds pitching also issued nine walks. From the leadoff spot, Thomas Sosa had three hits with a double. Jake Cunningham and Anderson De Los Santos both homered.
