It was a light night of scoring down on the farm, but a few big names still made an impact up and down the system.
Triple-A: Charlotte Knights (White Sox) 6, Norfolk Tides 4
Jackson Holliday played his second game since coming off the IL and reached base twice (single, walk). Coby Mayo went deep for the second straight game, a one-run shot in the eighth inning. Mayo had singled in a run earlier in the game as well. Connor Norby singled, walked, stole a base, and scored a run. Kyle Stowers struck out three times during his 0-for-5 night.

It was a tough night on the bump for Brandon Young. He lasted just three innings as he allowed four runs (all earned) on two hits, four walks, four strikeouts, and a home run. But the bullpen was brilliant behind him. Nolan Hoffman didn’t have an earned run over three innings, striking out four in the process. Wandisson Charles, Matt Krook, and Morgan McSweeney tossed one scoreless inning apiece to keep the game close.
Double-A: Bowie Baysox 3, Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies) 2
Four Bowie pitchers combined for a real nice evening in this one. Kyle Brnovich started and struck out seven over innings, coughing up just a pair of runs and nabbing the win. Cody Scroggins struck out all three batters that he faced in the sixth. Levi Stoudt racked up three K’s over 1.2 frames. And it was Nick Richmond for the final four outs to earn his second save of the season.
TT Bowens was the only Baysox hitter with multiple hits (single, double). Frederick Bencosme doubled, knocked in a run, and scored a run. Jud Fabian smacked his 13th homer of the season, a solo job in the third inning. Samuel Basallo went 1-for-4 with a single and a run scored.

High-A: Aberdeen IronBirds 3, Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) 1
It was a group effort in the pitching department as four different hurlers took the hill for the IronBirds. None of them went more than the 3.2 frames that starter Jackson Baumeister tossed. He was able to work around his three hits and three walks by striking out six and keeping the ball in the park. Logan Rinehart, Yaqui Rivera, and Bradley Brehmer combined for 5.1 shutout innings of relief, including just one hit, one walk, and five strikeouts.
Angel Tejada led the Aberdeen offense with a 2-for-4 performance that included a double and a two-run homer. Douglas Hodo III drove in the team’s other run and stole his 22nd base of the season. Terrin Vavra, once again on a rehab stint, DH’ed here. He doubled and scored a run. Reed Trimble walked and swiped a bag. His OPS on the season sits at an impressive .977.
Low-A: Delmarva Shorebirds 3, Down East Wood Ducks (Rangers) 0 – Suspended/2
These two teams did not even get through two innings before the game was suspended due to rain. That did, however, give Jake Cunningham enough time to hit a three-run homer. The game will be continued on Thursday as part of a doubleheader in Salisbury.
