The farm saw three wins and a suspension last night, with two going into extras
Triple-A: Norfolk Tides 1, Charlotte Knights (CWS) 0 – F/11
Starting pitcher Justin Armbruester was outstanding last night, pitching six shutout innings with five strikeouts. He gave up just four hits and didn’t walk a batter. Armbruester has had a tough time in Triple-A this season. He came into this game with an ERA of 9.20 in 14 starts.
The potent Tides’ offense took a night off, clocking just two hits through all 11 innings of this game. They were both singles, one each by Daniel Johnson and Billy Cook. The team did take three walks, including one by Coby Mayo.
Relief pitchers Ryan Hennen and Nolan Hoffman pitched five scoreless innings and in the 11th inning the Tides finally prevailed without getting a hit. The Manfred Man, Anthony Servideo, started at second and moved to third on a groundout. He then came in to score the winning run on a wild pitch.

Double-A: Bowie Baysox @ Reading Fightin Phils – Suspended
These teams sat through a long delay a the third inning. They did restart but the game had to suspended after the Baysox took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth. The remainder of the game will be played today.
High-A: Aberdeen IronBirds 8, Brooklyn Cyclones (NYM) 3
The IronBirds had 12 hits and went 6-for-13 with runners in scoring position as they won handily over the Cyclones. Enrique Bradfield was excellent at the top of the order with two singles, a walk, and three stolen bases. And cleanup batter Mac Horvath had a big day with a double and his 7th home run of the year.
The bottom half of the lineup did the rest of the damage. Carter Young, Adam Retzbach, and Maxwell Costes all had multi-hit games and they combined to score four runs and knock in four as well.
Starter Zach Fruit gave up two runs in four innings and relief pitcher Edgar Portes finished the game off with a five-inning, one-run effort.

Low-A: Delmarva Shorebirds 4, Down East Wood Ducks (TEX) 3 – F/10
The Shorebirds took a 3-1 lead into the ninth but relief pitcher Jared Beck allowed two-runs for the Wood Ducks to tie. But a Thomas Sosa RBI single in the bottom of the 10th gave the Shorebirds the walk-off win. It was Sosa’s second hit of the game, he also singled in the first and scored on Anderson De Los Santos’s two-RBI hit.
Aron Estrada had a three-hit game and included the team’s only extra-base hit, a double. Estrada scored twice. He is OPS’ing just over 1.000 over the last four weeks and has his overall OPS up to .792.
Starting pitcher Juan Rojas had an excellent night. The 20-year-old lefty struck out seven batters without a walk in 4.1 innings. He gave up just two hits, both singles He threw 42 of his 56 pitches for strikes.
