The Shorebirds hung 12 runs on Carolina, and Dylan Beavers led Bowie to an 8-3 victory.
Triple-A: Charlotte Knights (White Sox) 5, Norfolk Tides 3
Anthony Servideo provided Norfolk an early lead with a two-run homer in the third, but Charlotte ended the game on a 5-1 run. Recent minor-league signing Adrian Houser tossed three scoreless innings before running into trouble in the fourth. Houser allowed five earned runs over the next three frames with four of Charlotte’s five runs coming on a pair of home runs.
J.D. Davis drove in the Tides’ other run with a single in the eighth inning. Samuel Basallo finished 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, and Jud Fabian recorded a hit in four trips.
Luis González, Nick Vespi, and Corbin Martin each posted a scoreless inning for the Tides.
Double-A: Bowie Baysox 8, Harrisburg Senators (Nationals) 3
Bowie trailed 3-2 before posting a crooked number in the fifth inning. Dylan Beavers tied the game at three with an RBI triple, and Silas Ardoin plated Beavers to secure the lead. Frederick Bencosme followed with a walk, and John Rhodes chased Ardoin and Bencosme home for a two-run double.
Beavers went 2-for-4 with a walk, and Rhodes finished 2-for-3 with a base on balls. Enrique Bradfield Jr. led Bowie with three hits from the leadoff spot. Luis Valdez singled, walked, scored twice, and stole three bases for the Baysox.
Alex Pham only allowed one run, but he walked four batters over 3.2 innings. Keagan Gillies posted two clean innings in relief.
High-A: Jersey Shore BlueClaws (Phillies) 15, Aberdeen IronBirds 0
The IronBirds allowed 10 runs over the first four innings, and the BlueClaws tacked on five more in the sixth. Aberdeen allowed Trey Gibson to pitch into the fourth inning. Gibson was eventually charged with eight earned runs on 10 hits. Shortstop Jalen Vasquez tossed a clean top of the ninth.
Griff O’Ferrall managed a single from the leadoff spot. Vance Honeycutt finished 0-for-4 with three strikeouts, and Thomas Sosa went hitless. Jake Cunningham worked a pair of walks during a very light night at the plate.
Low-A: Delmarva Shorebirds 12, Carolina Mudcats (Brewers) 6
Delmarva broke the game open with a pair of runs in the seventh and six more in the eighth. The Shorebirds recorded 16 hits but only three went for extra bases. Delmarva did not hit a home run.
Eighth-round pick Colin Tuft finished 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Miguel Rodríguez, an 18-year-old international signing, went 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBIs of his own. Fernando Peguero plated a pair with a triple, and Maikol Hernández finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Both Alfredo Velásquez and Edwin Amparo picked up a pair of hits and runs from the top of the order.
Starter Braxton Bragg limited Carolina to two runs over five innings of work. He struck out five and only walked one.
