The Baltimore Orioles have hired former Seattle Mariners president of business operations Catie Griggs to the same role in Baltimore. Griggs will serve as the first female in that role in team history where she will oversee all aspects of the Orioles business operation.
“I am genuinely thrilled to be joining the Orioles organization. Supporting this storied franchise, the city of Baltimore, and our passionate fans is an incredible honor,” Griggs said in a statement. “I look forward to contributing to the team’s success both on and off the field.”
Griggs was named president of business operations for the Mariners in July 2021. She managed all aspects of the Mariners business operations including investments to improve technology, operations, and fan experience at T-Mobile Park.

Catie Griggs Named President of Business Operations
Griggs led the charge as T-Mobile Park became the first venue to host both MLB All-Star Week and the NHL Winter Classic in the same calendar year. The two events generated over $80 million in revenue for the city of Seattle.
“Catie’s track record of success, diverse business experience, and commitment to excellence made her the perfect to lead the next chapter of our business operation in Baltimore,” said Orioles owner David M. Rubenstein. “The entire Orioles organization welcomes Catie as we continue to elevate every aspect of our operation.”
Before Griggs Joined the Executive Ranks of Baseball
Griggs recently resigned from her post in Seattle, citing a desire to be closer to family on the East Coast. Before working with the Mariners, Griggs spent four years helping build Atlanta United into a successful MLS franchise. She was the Chief Business Officer, overseeing all aspects of the club’s front office. Prior to working with Atlanta United, Griggs was with Futures Sport & Entertainment, along with Turner Broadcasting.
“It is our belief that Orioles fans and the Baltimore community will benefit from what Catie brings,” said Orioles owner and joint owner of Charm City Sports Partners, LLC, Michael Arougheti. “That experience will be especially valuable as we begin to reimagine Oriole Park at Camed Yards.”
Griggs will assume her role on August 19, 2024.
