Stats. Analysis. Commentary. Not from Kevin Broom.
The Washington Wizards lost to the Toronto Raptors last night, 119-104. Kevin Broom is out for the next few days with work, so you get to deal with me instead. Let’s take a look at the Four Factors, some positives, and negatives.
The Raptors’ advantages in effective field goal percentage, offensive rebounding, and free throw rate were pivotal in their victory. While both teams had similar turnover percentages which were very low, the Raptors’ ability to secure offensive rebounds and capitalize on free-throw opportunities created a significant edge over the Wizards.
Of all the four factors in this game. the aforementioned ORB% stood out the most. Toronto’s rating was 42.4 percent while the Wizards’ was 26.2 percent.
Positives
- Alex Sarr’s Double-Double: Center Alex Sarr recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, highlighting his presence in the paint. (AS.com, Fox Sports, Reuters)
- Kyshawn George’s Defensive Prowess: Forward Kyshawn George made a significant defensive impact, tallying five blocks along with 13 points and three assists.
Negatives
- Rebounding Disparity: The Wizards were outrebounded 73-54, including a 28-16 deficit in offensive rebounds, allowing the Raptors multiple second-chance opportunities.
- Shooting Efficiency: Washington struggled with shooting, finishing with a field goal percentage of 36.2 percent and a three-point percentage of 29.1 percent.
- Injuries Impacting Rotation: Bilal Coulibaly exited early due to a right hamstring injury. Unclear if he’s playing tonight against the Detroit Pistons
Let’s hope tonight’s game against the Detroit won’t be too bad.
