The arena is expected to be owned by the city once renovations begin.
This calendar year has been big for Monumental Sports & Entertainment considering that there will be some major renovations in the coming years to improve the Washington Wizards and Capitals fan experience. And we are getting closer to the renovations beginning.

It will be interesting to see what the reimagined Capital One Arena will be like once these renovations are over. The biggest change from a legal standpoint is that the arena is expected to be sold from Monumental Sports to the D.C. Government with MSE leasing the arena.
