The Washington Wizards guard had a one-day stint with the G League affiliate to get some minutes.
Washington Wizards guard Johnny Davis has struggled to get into the rotation in any of his three seasons in the NBA despite being a first round pick in 2022. To get some more time, he has spent several stints with the Capital City Go-Go G League team, the Wizards’ affiliate, including yesterday.

The Go-Go put Davis to work right away, where he started in Capital City’s 131-106 win over the College Park Skyhawks. Davis scored 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting and made both of his three point shots.
After the win, he was promptly reassigned to the Wizards.

Davis has averaged 2.5 points per game in 7.3 minutes per appearance (15 in all) for the Wizards this season.
As you know, Davis’ fourth year option hasn’t been extended, so this is almost definitely his last season with the Wizards. But since the Go-Go are 8-3 this season and second in the league so far, do you think it may be worth sending a player or two to play a Go-Go game to experience a more consistent winning environment?
