It appears that All-Star center Kristaps Porzingis is on the move again. His destination this time? Boston.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers are closing in on a blockbuster trade. The deal would send Porzingis to Boston, Malcolm Brogdon to the Clippers and Morris plus draft picks to the Wizards.
In a follow-up report, Charania said that the Clippers are expected to trade their No. 30 overall pick to the Wizards to complete the trade. The deal will net the Wizards a first-round pick for assisting in Porzingis’ impending opt in-and-trade deal.
“The Clippers are expected to trade No. 30 in Thursday’s NBA Draft to the Wizards as part of this three-team trade, sources said. Washington nets a first-rounder for aiding Porzingis opt in-and-trade,” Charania tweeted.
We’ll find out the full extent of the deal in the days or perhaps even hours to come.
Kristaps Porzingis was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and played well in his first few seasons before injuries resulted in his being traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
After a few years in Dallas, Porzingis joined the Washington Wizards, where he has enjoyed some of the best basketball of his still-young career.
Will Porzingis continue to thrive in Boston?
