On Monday night, in a 125-112 win for the Warriors over the Wizards, Green had a firsthand look of just how far Poole has come as he looks to continue the strong start he’s had to his second season in the nation’s capital. Green observed that Poole is now more comfortable in his current role as the Wizards’ alpha, as he’s no longer forcing the issue the way he did last season. “He’s playing a lot better. His shot selection… you come to a new situation, as a competitor you want to show everything. I think last year he was pressing. He wanted it so bad. He’s settling in. Last year were bad shots but he wanted it so bad,” Green said, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

Just one missed call in Rockets-Warriors last 2 minute report. Draymond Green should have been called for fouling Amen Thompson with 1:24 left. Jabari Smith Jr. scored on the possession, but Green would have fouled out 1:16 before he did (and before his late turnover and foul.) – 1:59 PM

Three large Jonathan Kuminga 2s in overtime — spinning fade, transition layup, lefty layup over Jabari Smith — deliver the Warriors a win in Houston. They blew a 31-point lead, but survive with no Steph Curry and no Draymond/Podziemski in OT. Record: 5-1. – 10:55 PM

More on this storyline
Ohn Youngmisuk: Steph Curry and Draymond Green had praise for the Wizards’ youngsters. Draymond said he hasn’t seen a Wizards team compete like this in years. He cited Bub Carrington and Kyshawn George specifically and how they brought the energy with the trash talking. “They earned my respect.” -via x.com / November 4, 2024
Ohm Youngmisuk: Steve Kerr talks about the importance of being in Washington DC on the eve of the election and stresses the importance of election integrity and how Trump is the first president to question the integrity and create fear. “Something that I told him earlier, it’s funny because right when he got to the league everybody was slandering him talking about his Summer League performances, blah, blah, blah,” Poole said. “I was telling him that when you get on the court with other NBA guys and guys on your team, our job is to make the game easier for you.” -via Clutch Points / October 25, 2024
“It’s not about Game 10. It’s not about Game 30. It’s about what we’re doing next year. It’s about what we’re doing in a couple of years,” Poole said. “And it’s a ‘be in the present’ type of thing, and it’s a ‘day by day’ thing. So I think everybody in the locker room knows that, and we just love coming to work every day and getting better, and over the course of time everything will take care of itself.” -via Washington Post / October 25, 2024
