While with Washington, Williams started the majority of his games, including averaging 20 points and 7.7 assists per game in the 1984-85 season. He is better known in the NBA as a member of the then-Seattle SuperSonics from 1977-84 where he was a member of Seattle’s NBA runner up team to the Bullets in the 1977-78 season and as part of their NBA championship team from 1978-79. He was also an NBA All-Star in 1982 and 83. The Sonics are now the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Rest in Paradise Gus.
