There’s a chance that Kristaps Porzingis plays for the Washington Wizards again next season.
Per Keith Smith, the buzz out there right now is that Porzingis will opt into taking $36 million with the Wizards in 2023-24 and then hit free agency the year after.
Something that is picking up more and more buzz: Kristaps Porzingis opting in for $36M with Washington next season. Under the old front office, the assumption was Porzingis would opt out and re-sign on a long-term deal with Wizards. He may take the money now and hit FA in 2024.

Porzingis has been with the Wizards for the last two seasons and has been one of their best players. He averaged 23 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game this past season and averaged 22 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 2021-22.
Before he was with the Wizards, he spent time with the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks. For his career, he has averaged 19.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.
It would be massive for the Wizards to have him back for next season as they try and get back to the playoffs.
They finished the 2022-23 season with a 35-47 record.
