Washington will pair Iriafen with Sonia Citron, who they took third overall earlier tonight.
With the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, the Washington Mystics selected forward Kiki Iriafen out of the University of Southern California.
The Mystics owned both the third and fourth overall picks, and they landed on guard Sonia Citron out of Notre Dame at three and Iriafen at four.
Iriafen was named an AP All-American in her lone season at USC after transferring from Stanford, where she spent her first three collegiate seasons. As a senior Iriafen averaged 18.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
Iriafen is not much a floor spacer at the forward spot, but both her free throw percentage and her free throw attempts per game have taken massive jumps in each of her four college seasons — this is a strong indicator that she has the potential to develop a credible three-point shot.
More offensive responsibility will fall on Iriafen as a rookie in the WNBA than she bore as a senior in college, assuming she is slotted into the starting lineup. Iriafen had the luxury of playing with National Player of the Year JuJu Watkins at USC, but now she enters the WNBA on a Mystics team without a lot of offensive production on the roster.
