The Wizards were wheeling and dealing on draft night.
The Washington Wizards didn’t settle for just one trade on draft night.
The Wizards reportedly agreed to a deal with the New York Knicks, who selected Miami forward Kyshawn George with the 24th overall pick. The 6’7” Swiss youngster is expected to end up in Washington in exchange for the 26th and 51st picks.
The 20-year-old came off the bench for half his freshman season with the Hurricanes. In 31 games (16 starts), George averaged 7.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 42.6% shooting over 23.0 minutes per game.

George shot the ball well from deep at Miami, converting on 40.8% of his 4.2 attempts per game. He also showed glimpses of his ability to create plays for others via drive and kick.
George grew up playing point guard before a late growth spurt saw him rise to 6’7” in height. The reported future Wizard was seen practicing his dribbling while waiting for his name to be called on draft night. His 6’10” wingspan was on full display.

George is still quite raw but has the potential to be a plus 3-and-D defender with some upside as a secondary playmaker.
