Let’s take another look at who some draft experts believe the Wizards will select with pick No. 2.
The Washington Wizards are continuing to have a pretty quiet offseason besides getting the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Today, with about one month left to go and with the draft combine now behind us, let’s look at some mock drafts to see which prospects the Wizards could select with that pick.
This list isn’t exhaustive.
- ESPN: Xaccherie Risacher, F JL Bourg (France)
- USA Today: Risacher
- Gary Parrish, CBS Sports: Reed Sheppard, G, Kentucky
- Kyle Boone, CBS Sports: Risacher
- Jonathan Wasserman, Bleacher Report: Alex Sarr, C, Perth Wildcats (Australia)
- NBADraft.net: Sarr
- Brian Lewis, New York Post: Risacher
- John Fanta, FOX Sports: Nikola Topic, G, Mega MIS (Serbia)
About a week ago, most mock drafts would not have included Sarr, who was more-or-less considered to be the No. 1 prospect in the draft. However, Risacher is still playing and thriving in LNB Pro A postseason games, which may help his case for being selected No. 1 overall by the Atlanta Hawks.
If you thought the Wizards (or even the Hawks) have an easy time deciding which player they will pick with their first round pick (or their first, first round pick in the Wizards’ case), think again.
