And either way, there will be a “French Revolution” of sorts in D.C.
Happy Wednesday everyone! The 2024 NBA Draft is at 8 p.m. ET tonight which you can watch on ESPN. This isn’t the open thread for the event, but we wanted to share whom the Washington Wizards could select at No. 2 and No. 26 based on various mock drafts on the internet!
SB Nation network mock drafts
- SB Nation (Ricky O’Donnell): Alex Sarr (Perth Wildcats or the Australian NBL) at No. 2; Kyshawn George (Miami, FL) at No. 26
- SB Nation team writers (Gabe Ibrahim and Renzo Salao represented us): Zaccharie Risacher (JL Bourg of the French LNB Elite) at No. 2; KJ Simpson (Colorado) at No. 26
- Bleav in Wizards Podcast (our own Matt Modderno, Kevin Broom and Osman Baig): Sarr at No. 2; Pacome Dadiet (Ratiopharm Ulm of the German Basketball Bundesliga) at No. 26
Other mock drafts
The order of these drafts is not an endorsement of any particular site.
- The Athletic of the New York Times (Sam Vecenie): Sarr at No. 2, Dadiet at No. 26
- Bleacher Report (Jonathan Wasserman): Sarr at No. 2, Isaiah Collier (Southern Cal) at No. 26
- CBS Sports (multiple): Sarr and Risacher are the consensus Top 2 picks of the draft. Multiple players were selected at No. 26.
- NBADraft.net (Aran Smith): Sarr at No. 2, Dadiet at No. 26
- HoopsHype: Sarr at No 2, Kyle Filipowski (Duke) at No. 26
- Yahoo Sports (Krysten Peek): Sarr at No. 2, Johnny Furphy (Kansas) at No. 26
- New York Post (Brian Lewis): Sarr at No. 2, Kel’el Ware (Indiana) at No. 26
- The Washington Post (Ben Golliver): Sarr at No. 2. This draft only went through the Top 14 picks.
Of course, these are only just a few of the many mock drafts out there. But it seems like the Wizards are likely going to bring in Alex Sarr who is French though he plays in Australia. And if the Hawks decided to pick Sarr instead, Washington will probably draft Zaccharie Risacher instead. Either way, it looks like the Wizards will select a Frenchman at No. 2.
