Alright, it’s time to start speculating and get our X notifications on high alert!
Hello everyone, and it’s my birthday today. Yes, it really is. But that’s not the reason why you click on this link.
(And no, I’m not celebrating it because of my duty on this site, at least for now).
June 30 is the day when NBA teams can start negotiating with players who were on any roster that wasn’t their own last season (2023-24). So the Washington Wizards and all other teams can start knocking on LeBron James’ door at 6 p.m. ET. That’s two hours from now.
Greg Finberg previewed what the Wizards face over the next few days. And if you’re too lazy (Greg did link to these too, but I’ll put it out there again), here is more news that already transpired with the Wizards and their negotiations with free agents who were on their roster in 2023-24:
- Richaun Holmes will re-sign for a two-year, $25.9 million contract.
- Landry Shamet has mutually agreed to push back his contract guarantee date to July 13, but he is also expected to re-sign with Washington.
This page needs some updating which I will do this week. But it gave information where the Wizards’ salary cap situation was heading toward the NBA Draft last week.
Of all the Wizards’ remaining free agents, we haven’t heard much on what Tyus Jones will do. I would imagine that he will listen to other teams this evening.
That’s all I have for this Sunday.
