The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame player and TNT analyst will be at the turntables for the Wizards’ Friday Night Concert Series.
On Wednesday, the Washington Wizards announced that NBA on TNT host and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame player Shaquille O’Neal will perform an Electronic Dance Music (EDM) show after Washington’s home game against the Orlando Magic on Friday, Mar. 21 as part of the Wizards Concert Series. O’Neal will perform under his stage name DJ Diesel.
O’Neal is already a well known personality in the NBA as a broadcaster, and also as one of the league’s most dominant players during his nearly 20-year playing career. Music has also been a major side project of his career, which included when O’Neal had some rap albums in the 1990s.
Recently, he has also been a relatively popular EDM DJ, though he does this as an amateur. For example, he has done some shows at sporting events.
And O’Neal was even on the main stage at Tomorrowland, one of the world’s biggest EDM festivals held in Boom (pronounced Bohm), Belgium, a city less than 15 miles south of Antwerp.
I think this will be a popular concert with fans, though he is quite heavy on dub beats as you can see above. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
