For the first time in site history, a Washington Mystic related story was one of our Top 10 overall read pieces this year. It also had the most unique visitors.
Here are the Top 10 most visited pieces on Bullets Forever in the 2024 calendar year
No. 1: How will the 2025 and 2026 WNBA expansion drafts affect the Mystics?
For the first time in site history, a WNBA piece ended up being the most visited page on our site for the entire calendar year. This piece never had a day where more than 800 pageviews. Rather, it was the consistent 100-200 view days over several months, especially in July and October that helped make this the most read piece of the year.
I will update this piece soon because the 2025 WNBA Expansion Draft happened with Julie Vanloo going to the Golden State Valkyries.
No. 2: NBA Draft 2024: Recapping the Wizards’ picks and projected acquisitions from last night
After the Wizards picked or acquired three first round picks, we had a ton of site traffic thanks to this piece which was a nice roundup of the moves Washington made.
No. 3: NBA Draft Lottery 2024 results: Wizards receive the No. 2 overall pick
Also, with the Wizards being one of the NBA’s worst teams in the 2023-24 season, it should be no surprise that the lottery and content around it was well read and generated many comments.
No. 4: Olympics 2024: France men’s and women’s national basketball team rosters officially announced
Les Bleus (men) and Les Bleues (women) represented the host country in the 2024 Olympics. Our site generated more traffic than usual during the summer in part because guard Bilal Coulibaly ade the men’s national team.
And while the USA Basketball teams had the most attention during the Olympics as a whole, it should be no surprise that France was the second most followed country in basketball due to their standing in the world. In addition, with San Antonio Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama on the men’s team, that was to some degree more fuel to the fire behind the peace.
No. 5: NBA Free Agency 2024: The Wizards may be open to dealing Tyus Jones in a sign-and-trade scenario, according to report
Last season, the Wizards had a consistent presence at point guard with Jones, who is now playing for the Phoenix Suns. He was one of the best point guard free agency period so any piece on him during the summer was rocket fuel for the site.
No. 6: The Kings are among several NBA teams interested in making a trade for Kyle Kuzma, according to report
The veteran forward remains one of the Wizards’ most attractive trade prospects today, but he was even more coveted last July when this piece was written.
No. 7: Wizards trade Daniel Gafford to the Mavericks for Richaun Holmes and a first round pick according to report
Speaking about Kuzma, he was almost traded to the Mavericks last season. But it didn’t happen. Instead, Gafford, Washington’s starting center for the first half of the 2023-24 season, was traded.
No. 8: list of (nearly) everyone whom the Wizards should consider for their next head coach
When teams aren’t playing well, or when the head coach is on the hot seat, pieces musing about who could be good candidates for the job will be well-read.
Like the No. 1 piece on the WNBA Expansion Drafts’ impact on the Mystics, this piece wasn’t necessarily among the most read on Apr. 24 when it was first published. But it consistently had readership for a month until Keefe was officially named the head coach.
No. 9: NBA Summer League 2024: Grading the Wizards after their showing in Las Vegas
After the Wizards’ Summer League, Greg Finberg took a deep dive at Washington’s top performers.
No. 10: Lakers interested in trading for Kyle Kuzma, according to report
Finally, pieces involving the Los Angeles Lakers generate more traffic than other teams. And because Kuzma played for the Lakers before playing for the Wizards, this piece was also heavily read back in July during the NBA free agency period.
