On Wednesday, the Washington Wizards selected Dillon Jones, a 6’5 guard from Weber State, with the No. 26 overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft.
Jones played four years for the Wildcats, where he was named the 2023-24 Big Sky Conference Player of the Year. He averaged 20.8 points and 5.2 assists last season. Weber State was also 20-12 last season.
Though Jones is a Wizards player right now, he is expected to be traded to the New York Knicks in a deal to be officially announced later. Washington will use Jones and the No. 51 pick as a package to move up to the No. 24 pick, which the Knicks officially selected Miami forward Kyshawn George with.
