Another week in the NHL is about to begin, and managers are preparing for their 2025 Week 14 fantasy hockey matchups. The best strategy to beat your opponent is streaming players and maximizing your games played for the week. Here is an overview of Week 14 and some players you may want to consider adding for the week.
2025 Week 14 Fantasy Hockey Schedule
The 2025 Week 14 fantasy hockey schedule is a balanced one. The light days this week have a minimum of four games being played. This week’s heavy game days are not so busy that all your roster spots may be filled (except for Saturday with 15 games).
The best schedules for fantasy hockey this week belong to the Vancouver Canucks and Washington Capitals. Both teams play four games this week with three games each on light days.
This week’s worst schedules belong to the Nashville Predators and New York Islanders. Both teams only play two games this week and are matched up against strong competition. If you have any players from these teams who could be dropped, now is the time to do it.
Vancouver Canucks Available Streamers
With the Canucks dealing with some injuries to Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson, the team’s depth has been given another chance to shine. No one is getting better opportunities than Conor Garland. Garland is playing a top-six role and top power play position currently. His deployment mixed with decent shot peripherals makes him a good upside stream this week. Even if Pettersson returns to the Canucks lineup this week, that may boost Garland’s play at even strength and overall fantasy contributions.
Another available forward on the Canucks is Kiefer Sherwood. We have been high on Sherwood all season due to his incredible hit volume. Sherwood has the most hits in the NHL with 220 in 38 games this season. This is good for an average of nearly six hits per game and is 64 hits more than Luke Schenn who has the second most hits this year.
At only 50% rostered on Fantrax, Sherwood has been a must-add this season in any banger or category league. With four games this week, adding Sherwood can help your team by delivering a safe floor every night.
Pierre-Luc Dubois Leads Best Available Players on Washington
Since being traded from the L.A. Kings in the off-season, Dubois has had a career resurgence. In 82 games with the Kings, Dubois recorded just 40 points. That was the lowest full-season total in his career. In 39 games played so far this season, Dubois has already hit the 30-point mark. If he continues at this pace, he will tie his career high in points.
At just 55% rostered on Fantrax and playing a top-six role on a wagon Capitals team, PLD is worth an add during this four-game week.
On defence, consider having a look at Martin Fehervary. He is currently on a two-game point streak, tallying one goal and two assists in that span. However, Fehervary’s fantasy value is in his peripheral coverage.
With 71 hits and 80 blocks in 39 games, the 25-year-old defenceman’s playstyle helps provide a safe floor in fantasy hockey. At just 15% rostered on Fantrax, Fehervary is available in the majority of leagues and is worth adding in category leagues if you need a defenceman this week.
Ride the Hot Hand: Add Jason Zucker
As an honourary mention this week, add Jason Zucker of the Buffalo Sabres. Zucker is currently on a four-game point streak and has ten points in his last seven games. Through those seven games, he has recorded seven power play points.
He is getting premium deployment with line one and power play one minutes. Zucker is available in most leagues and is worth adding for the time being.
