NHL Predictions
Washington Capitals vs New York Rangers
Head-to-Head: Capitals 2-0 Rangers
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: TNT; TruTV; Max; MSG
We open up NHL predictions with our featured game with the Capitals and the Rangers. Newly-extended goalie Charlie Lindgren is expected to get the start for Washington. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Capitals are 5-3-2 in the last 10 games and trying for the season-sweep over the Blueshirts. Pierre-Luc Dubois has bounced back this season with 15 goals and 37 assists for Washington.
Igor Shesterkin is the projected starter for the Rangers, who have gotten two shutouts in a row. New York is coming on strong at the right time with a 7-3 mark in the last 10 games, which includes two consecutive victories. Mika Zibanejad has been turning things around with four goals and 10 assists over the past 10 games.
New York has been playing better, but Washington gets the season-sweep.
Prediction: Capitals win 4-2.
Ottawa Senators vs Chicago Blackhawks
Time: 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: Sportsnet; Chicago Sports Network; ESPN+
Our second game of NHL predictions has the Ottawa Senators visiting the Chicago Blackhawks. Ottawa is expected to go with Linus Ullmark in the crease for this one. The Senators are in the mix to finally get back to the post-season. However, a 4-5-1 mark in the last 10 games hasn’t helped their cause. Brady Tkachuk has been strong this season with 23 goals and 21 assists for Ottawa.
Possible trade candidate Petr Mrazek is the likely starter for Chicago, but that could change before game time. The Blackhawks are 3-5-2 in the last 10 games, but that includes two straight wins entering this matchup. Teuvo Teravainen has been playing lately with three goals and 11 assists over the past 10 games for Chicago.
The Blackhawks are doing better, but the Senators need victories and points.
Prediction: Senators win 5-2.
Toronto Maple Leafs vs Vegas Golden Knights
Head-to-Head: Maple Leafs 1-0 Golden Knights
Time: 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: TSN4; TruTV; TNT; Max
The last game of today’s NHL predictions is the Vegas Golden Knights hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs. It’s likely that the Leafs will start Joseph Woll in the blue paint for this game. Toronto is 8-1-1 in the last 10 games, but are coming off an embarrassing shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks. Matthew Knies is averaging a point a game as of late with six goals and four assists over the last 10 games.
Adin Hill is the projected starter for the Golden Knights, who are 5-3-2 in the last 10 games. However, Vegas has two consecutive victories entering this matchup. Jack Eichel has been playing well this season with 19 goals and 53 assists for the Golden Knights.
Toronto will be looking for a bounce-back, but Vegas has been great at home this season.
Prediction: Golden Knights win 4-3.
