North Dakota State transfer Grant Nelson, arguably the top remaining transfer in the portal, has committed to Alabama, a source told ZAGSBLOG.
Jeff Goodman first reported the news.
The addition giving coach Nate Oats a major offensive weapon for the 2023-24 season.
He visited both Alabama and Arkansas recently. The 6-foot-11 native of Devils Lake, N.D. averaged 17.9 points on 52% shooting last season and 9.3 rebounds.

He attended the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago last month and then opted to withdraw from the draft and transfer.
“My plan — I want to stay in the draft,” Nelson told Mike McFeely at the NBA Combine. “That’s my main goal — get drafted this year. But I entered the transfer portal and kept my eligibility just as like, if anything does happen, I do have that to fall back on. But my main goal is to get drafted this year.”
Alabama lost guard Jahvon Quinerly to the portal but retains guard Mark Sears while adding transfers Latrell Wrightsell Jr. (Cal State Fullerton) and Aaron Estrada (Hofstra). The Tide also added 6-10 reclassified forward Jarin Stevenson.
