Georgetown is set to introduce its new head coach fairly soon.
According to multiple reports, Providence head coach Ed Cooley is expected to be named the new head coach of Georgetown. It comes after Jon Rothstein noticed on Monday morning that Cooley’s Rhode Island home had been put on the market.
Barring a change of heart at the last moment, Ed Cooley will be the next head coach at Georgetown, sources tell FOX Sports.

Assuming this deal is finalized, Cooley will be taking over for Patrick Ewing, who was fired by Georgetown a little over a week ago.
Cooley has been the head coach at Providence for the last 12 seasons and quickly built up that program to be one of the best in the Big East. Under Cooley, the Friars won 242 games and appeared in the NCAA Tournament seven times.
He also helped the Friars win the Big East tournament in 2014 and the Big East regular season title in 2022.
Before he was at Providence, he coached Fairfield out of the MAAC for five seasons.
This looks like a strong hire for the Hoyas as they try to get back to national prominence.
