BYU has landed Baylor transfer point guard Rob Wright, according to multiple reports.
The 6-foot-1 freshman guard averaged 11.5 points and 4.2 assists on 41% shooting and 35% from deep as a freshman at Baylor.
“Rob Wright is a tremendous college talent,” ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla told ZAGSBLOG. “His experience in the Big 12 makes this a very easy transition for him.”
Wright played the 2023-24 season at Montverde (FL) Academy alongside projected No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg and fellow projected first-round picks Derik Queen, Liam McNeeley and Asa Newell.
He will join AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2025, on coach Kevin Young’s roster.
BYU is still awaiting an NBA decision from junior forward Richie Saunders, and Dybantsa hopes he comes back.
Freshman point guard Egor Demin will declare for the NBA Draft after averaging 10.6 points, 5.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 41.2% from the field, earning All-Big 12 honorable mention and freshman honors.
