Class of 2025 guard Jett Turner has been on a tear for Tindley High School (IN). The 6-foot-2, 175-pound guard has broke out his senior season, averaging 20 points, six rebounds and five assists per game.
He’ll be looking to carry the momentum from his regular season into the playoffs.
“I want us to win sectionals,” Turner told ZAGSBLOG. “That’s really the team’s main goal, my main goal.”
The 1A Indiana playoffs will start on March 3. Tindley will first play in sectionals and will have to win two games to move onto regionals. Turner will have a big say in getting Tindley to where it wants to be.
“I’m a true point guard, but I’m more of a shooter than slasher, and I just play with a lot of pace.” Turner said. “But my role on the team has been just being a leader and showing a good example. It’s really what it is. Just being a leader and scoring. Right now I’m the first scoring option. But more than that, it’s leading the team.”

On the recruitment side of things, Turner has recently taken a visit to Alabama A&M. He went to see a game, saw the team workout and talked to head coach Otis Hughley Jr.
“The visit was great,” Turner said. “I like the facility. Their coaches are very open and honest too. I like that. The team they’re open to other people. It’s not really a cultish group. They are open to seeing other people come and flourish… It’s just work. It’s just you get there and you work. Nothing’s really given. That’s the whole thing they preach there.”
Turner is also setting up a visit with Detroit Mercy, where a lot of his family is from. He’s received interest from other schools like Ball State, IU Indy and Columbia. Turner plans on making his final decision sometime in April.
Two people from Turner’s family have played basketball at the next level. His older brother, JT Turner, hooped at Concordia University in Chicago. His father, John Turner, played Division II basketball. Jett will likely be the first family member to play at the Division I level.
