INDIANAPOLIS — Jayden Reid, a recently named four-star rising senior out of Westminster (CT.) and PSA Cardinals, has shown a unique game through four Nike EYBL sessions, including in front of coaches for the first time this spring just two weeks ago.
The 6-foot-9 forward can block shots, rebound and stretch the floor for his team. He can be a force on the interior and continues to show his scoring ability with more touches.
He averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2 blocks last season with Westminster, and continued to produce with the PSA Cardinals on the EYBL circuit.
“I’m an all-around player,” he told ZAGSBLOG in an exclusive interview. “I can play both sides of the ball and I can be one of the best two-way players in the country. If not offensively, I feel I can be one of the best defensive players in the country and reliable on the court. Even if I’m not on the court, I’m showing my teammates support.”
Reid continuously talked about his defense, including the pride he takes in locking down the opposition.
“I love defense,” he said. “I could score zero points, but as long as I have something like 8 boards, 3 blocks, and steals, and I’m sitting on the ball, I love that.”

On the recruitment front, Reid has heard from a wide array of schools, and he’s currently leaving all options open.
Power 5 schools like Vanderbilt have shown interest, while the 3.7 GPA student holds offers from Columbia and other highly touted institutions.
“I just want to go somewhere I’m wanted, fit in and can just keep doing what I love,” he said.
Columbia was in for Reid in Indianapolis:
“Coach Brown and Coach Carberry are really cool,” he said. “They’ve been in touch recently and I like Columbia.”
New Vanderbilt head man Tad Boyle and his staff were looking into Reid at Colorado, and have continued talks with the new gig in Nashville.
“The Colorado coach actually went to Vanderbilt so the recruitment switched over to them,” he said. “They’ve been interested, I know they have great baseball and Nashville seems cool.”
