WHAT’S AT STAKE
Georgetown: Respect. The 7-1 record looks nice but it’s based on a lot of empty calories. It’s been about three weeks since the Notre Dame loss and now the Hoyas get their second shot at a major conference opponent. Did Ed Cooley’s scheduling strategy work? We’ll see tonight if his team can be competitive after not showing well at all in that loss to the Irish. While a win isn’t completely necessary to see growth, keeping it close would certainly go a long way for everyone involved.
WVU: The Mountaineers had a great week in the Bahamas with two wins over ranked Gonzaga and Arizona. All three of their games went to OT. New coach Darian DeVries wants to keep the momentum going as this is his team’s last true test before conference play.
