Former Pitt commit Judah Mintz is on the move to another ACC school.
The 6-foot-3 combo guard from Oak Hill Academy (VA) has committed to Syracuse. He also considered DePaul, N.C. State and Wake Forest. He is ranked the No. 9 combo guard in the 247Sports.com Composite.
“Syracuse was a great fit,” his father Camara told ZAGSBLOG. “Lots of tradition, great staff, and an amazing basketball community. He’s going to be able to walk in and play a major role from day one. They have a great young class coming in with several really good veterans as well. We’re really excited about this next chapter for him.”
Said legendary Oak Hill Academy coach Steve Smith: “Judah is a combo guard who can facilitate and score. He has great three point range and the ability to get in the paint area and finish. He shoots 85% from the foul line. Judah is also a tremendous on ball defender and leads our team in steals and deflections.”
Mintz is the sixth commit for Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim and his staff, joining point guard Quadir Copeland, small forwards Chris Bunch and Justin Taylor, power forward Maliq Brown and big man Peter Carey.
Boeheim previously called it the class the “best we’ve ever had.”
