The semifinalists for the Naismith Boy’s High School Player of the Year have been released. Here are the 10 names that made the cut:
- Darius Acuff Jr. — IMG Academy (FL)
- Nate Ament — Highland School (VA)
- Cameron Boozer — Christopher Columbus (FL)
- Mikel Brown Jr. — DME Academy (FL)
- Brayden Burries — Eleanor Roosevelt (CA)
- A.J. Dybantsa — Utah Prep
- Braylon Mullins — Greenfield-Central (IN)
- Koa Peat — Perry (AZ)
- Darryn Peterson — Prolific Prep (CA)
- Caleb Wilson — Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (GA)
Peterson and Dybantsa are fresh off some dazzling performances at the Grind Session in Atlanta. Peterson dropped 58 points including the game winner in a head-to-head contest vs. Dybantsa, who had 49 points, on Saturday. Dybantsa also scored 38 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a win vs. Iowa United on Sunday.
All 10 of these prospects were selected to play at the McDonald’s All-American game on April 1 in the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn.
