Baylor is hot on the transfer portal recruiting trail. Former Omaha guard JJ White committed to Scott Drew and the Bears on Thursday, giving Baylor its third commitment in three days.
White — the 6-foot-2, 180-pound guard — averaged 13.7 points, 4.0 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game in 2024-25 with Omaha. He shot 49.2% from the field and 44.2% from deep on 154 attempts. White started his career in 2021-22 at Colby Community College and has been a Maverick the past three seasons.
“JJ is a player who can affect the game in a variety of different ways,” Baylor coach Scott Drew said. “He has proven that leading the Summit League in assists and finishing top 15 in scoring last year, so he is a great fit for our roster in 2025-26.”
The guard was a key piece in leading the Mavericks to the NCAA Tournament. In Omaha’s first round game against an elite St. John’s defense, White scored 15 points and dished out five assists while shooting 3-of-6 from 3-point range. He is ranked the No. 70 overall player in the transfer portal by Evan Miya.
White joins former Wyoming guard Obi Agbim and former Oregon State forward Michael Rataj in Baylor’s transfer class this cycle. He’ll also join five-star forward Tounde Yessoufou as a newcomer on the 2025-26 roster.
