Four-star small forward Joshua Lewis has committed to Iowa, he announced live to 247Sports.
Lewis — the 6-foot-7, 185-pound small forward from Blake (FL) and the Florida Rebels Nike EYBL AAU program — was a former USF commit. But after the passing of head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim, Lewis reopened his recruitment. He took an official visit to Iowa in January, and now he’s a Hawkeye.
“Just going on my visit, getting to meet everybody, I just got a great feeling from everybody,” Lewis said during the announcement. “All the players, all the coaching staff seemed like some genuine people. The culture they have over there is real genuine. They have a real culture over there and real big fanbase from what I saw.”
This summer playing for the Rebels, Lewis averaged 7.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists during Peach Jam. His best tournament of the summer was in Kansas City, where he averaged 15.0 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting 45.9% from the field. Lewis is more of a point forward and enjoys having the ball in his hands.
“I feel like I can do a little bit of everything on the court,” Lewis previously said of his game. “I feel like the energy I bring to any team is really great, and I feel like I haven’t even tapped into my full potential yet. I feel like in the next few years, I’m going to be one of the top names in college from my class and I’m going to be in the NBA.”
Lewis will join two other players on Iowa’s 2025-26 roster from the 2025 cycle: top-100 prospect Badara Diakite and three-star center Dezmon Briscoe.
“I love their playstyle,” Lewis said. “I feel like I will fit in great with just the way they play and the great group of guys that they have. So I’m just super excited man.”
