Maryland’s lone commit in the 2025 class reopened his recruitment Monday.
Chris Jeffery, a four-star combo guard, decommitted from Maryland men’s basketball Monday, On3 first reported.
Jeffery is ranked No. 70 nationally and No. 3 in Maryland, according to 247Sports. He initially committed to the Terps on Oct. 2.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound guard played high school basketball at Mt. Zion Prep in Lanham, Maryland, and originally chose the Terps over Mississippi State and Texas A&M.
During his time on the Elite Youth Basketball League circuit, Jeffery averaged 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and nearly two steals per game.
The wave of transfers Monday afternoon, coupled with uncertainty at the head coaching position, likely influenced Jeffery’s decision to reopen his recruitment.
With his decision, the Terps no longer have any commits in the 2025 class, following four-star center Marcus Jackson’s decommitment in November 2024.
