Former Maryland and NFL running back Lance Ball was arrested Monday on charges of domestic violence, 2nd degree assault and criminal mischief, according to reports from TMZ Sports.
Ball, 37, was arrested for a “physical domestic disturbance” by Douglas County PD. The police report says Ball is accused of allegedly “strangling and assaulting” the victim.

The alleged incident occurred on Monday in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The alleged incident stemmed from an argument that occurred after Ball returned to the residence after playing golf, per KDVR.
After his college football career with Maryland, Ball went unselected in the 2008 NFL Draft. He initially signed with the St. Louis Rams and later went on to notch stints with the Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos. He finished his NFL career with 801 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground, and 230 receiving yards and two scores through the air.
