After the Michigan Wolverines raced out to a 23-3 lead in the second quarter against the Maryland Terrapins it appeared that they might have no trouble in College Park. But the Terps have come roaring back over the past few drives.
Maryland scored a touchdown after Michigan took their 20-point lead to send the game into halftime at 23-10. They got the ball back to start the second half and promptly marched down the field for another touchdown, cutting the score to 23-17.
Michigan, meanwhile, went 3-and-out on their first drive of the second half. That isn’t to say that the game is starting to slip away, but their defense needs to do its job to avoid the mother of all upsets.
Luckily for them, they were able to do exactly that with a fumble recovery on Maryland’s next drive. If they can keep it up, they’ll live to stay undefeated another week.

This is Michigan’s second game in a row without Jim Harbaugh on the sidelines and their fifth of the season without him.
Next week is The Game against Ohio State, which will determine which of the two teams represents the Big Ten East in the conference title game and in all likelihood the College Football Playoff.
Michigan-Maryland is being played on Fox.
