The freshman earned the nod for his consistent excellence throughout the Terps’ early-season slate. Queen notched 18 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Maryland-Eastern Shore Saturday, his fifth double-double of the season and his 11th straight game with at least 10 points.
Queen’s emerged as one of college basketball’s biggest breakout stars after being ranked No. 12 in the 2024 recruiting class by 247Sports. His 8.8 rebounds per game is the highest mark in the nation for a freshman, while his 16.8 points per game are tied for seventh among freshmen.
