Saturday’s meet had an attendance of 7,287 — more than triple the previous program attendance record of 2,207. Presumably, many were there to see UCLA phenom Jordan Chiles, who was part of Team USA at the 2024 and 2020 Summer Olympics. Chiles helped Team USA win gold in 2024 and silver in 2020.
The Terps fell to the Bruins, 197.550-194.850, to move to 2-3 on the season. All three of their losses came against ranked opponents: UCLA, No. 12 Auburn and No. 19 Penn State. Unlike most collegiate sports, gymnastics rankings are decided by average score rather than a vote among coaches or media.
