Maryland men’s basketball’s Derik Queen was named to the Wooden Award Top 25 Watch List, according to a Tuesday release. The Wooden Award honors the most outstanding player in college basketball.
The true freshman leads the Terps with 16 points per game, and ranks eighth in the Big Ten with eight rebounds per game. Currently shooting 56.2% from the field, he has racked up double-figure rebounds in five games, and is second on the team with five double-doubles.
Queen is in contention to be the first Wooden Award All-American since Greivis Vazquez in 2010.
