This is a Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.
Maryland football quarterback MJ Morris entered the transfer portal Friday, Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports and CBS Sports first reported.
Morris, a redshirt sophomore, transferred to Maryland last offseason in hopes of earning the starting job, but lost the quarterback competition to Billy Edwards Jr., who also entered the transfer portal and committed to Wisconsin in December. Morris played in seven games and started in one this season, throwing for 350 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions on a 59% completion percentage.
Champ Long, UCLA transfer Justyn Martin and four-star quarterback Malik Washington will likely be Maryland’s top options under center next season.
