Queen was the only Terp included on the AP all-conference teams, which only include first and second teams. Queen took home Big Ten Freshman of the Year and a coaches’ All-Big Ten first-team nod, while Ja’Kobi Gillespie was named to the third team and Julian Reese earned an honorable mention.
It’s been a special freshman season for Queen. He went from a 5-star recruit to one of the country’s consensus top big men, averaging a team-high 15.7 points per game to go along with 9.2 rebounds per game. With the regular season over, Queen moves onto the postseason, the last chance to improve his NBA Draft stock.
