Maryland men’s basketball earned a commitment from forward George Turkson Jr., who redshirted his freshman season with Texas A&M, he announced on his Instagram on Thursday. He is the fourth former Texas A&M transfer to follow head coach Buzz Williams to College Park.
Turkson, listed at 6-foot-7 and 220-pound, hails from Massachusetts and averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds per game in high school with Bradford Christian Academy. He was a three-time All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council selection, leading Bradford to a NEPSAC AA championship.
Turkson was a three-star prospect who was ranked No. 124 nationally in the class of 2024, according to 247 Sports.
