Maryland wrestler Jaxon Smith won bronze in the 2025 Pan American Championships in Queretaro, Mexico, over the weekend.
The All-American, competing for Team USA, defeated Kevin De Leon Trevino (Mexico) and Franco Gonzalez Palma (Chile), but fell to silver medalist Steven Rodriguez Torreyes (Venezuela). To win bronze, he pinned Cesar Ubico Estrada (Guatemala).
This past season, Smith was 20-7 heading into the NCAAs and placed fourth at the Big Ten Championships.
