This is a Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.
Maryland women’s basketball had its first entry into the transfer portal Tuesday. Emily Fisher announced her decision on social media after two seasons with the Terps.

Fisher averaged 1.7 points, 0.6 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game in 19 contests this season. She saw her minutes increase toward the end of the regular season after suffering a concussion, but barely saw any action in the postseason.
The 6-foot guard was a crucial player for Brenda Frese in Big Ten play, though, with a scattered amount of minutes in tight games.
In her freshman season, Fisher averaged 2.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists. After returning to Maryland, she saw less playing time with a more competitive roster around her.
Fisher was the final member of her freshman class to remain on the team, but will now likely look for more playing time elsewhere.
