Maryland baseball freshman catcher/outfielder Cole Constable entered the transfer portal Tuesday, he announced on X.

The 5-foot-10 hybrid did not see any game action in 2024.
He was ranked a 7.5 out of 10 prospect on Perfect Grade’s player grading system and attended Cathedral Preparatory High School in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was also ranked as the No. 500 player nationally and No. 41 in Pennsylvania.
Following Luke Shliger’s departure in 2023, the Terps worked a carousel of catchers in the 2024 season, including Devin Russell, Charlie Glennon and Alex Calarco. With varying degrees of success, Maryland’s catchers proved to lack consistency, and the position may be addressed this offseason.
