Eight Maryland football players were named to Athlon Sports’ preseason All-Big Ten teams, the publication announced Tuesday.
Wide receiver Tai Felton, linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II and kick returner Braeden Wisloski earned second-team selections, wide receiver Kaden Prather was named to the third team and running back Roman Hemby, defensive lineman Jordan Phillips and linebacker Donnell Brown earned fourth-team honors.
Felton and Hyppolite both earned All-Big Ten third team nods last season, and Wisloski was an honorable mention. Felton finished first on the team in receiving touchdowns (6) and second in receiving yards (723), while Hyppolite finished second on the team in tackles (66). Wisloski averaged 23.8 yards per return with one touchdown.
Prather was also an All-Big Ten honorable mention last season, totaling 666 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Hemby started in all 13 games last year, rushing for 680 yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Phillips and Brown played in all 13 games as well, combining for 57 total tackles and six sacks.
