After his crew’s performance in last Saturday’s game between the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys, Brad Allen is under a microscope in the ongoing Steelers-Ravens game. So far, he’s not impressing.
The flags were out flying early and often in the first half of the game. The Steelers were hit with three of them alone.
Last week Allen was vilified for overturning a game-winning two-point conversion play by failing to recognize that the eligible receiver had reported. As a result, Allen and his staff were demoted from playoff duties.
But if Week 18 was supposed to be their redemption story, they’re not doing a great job of it so far. Just about everyone is complaining that they’re throwing too many penalties right now:
I’m so glad this is a meaningless game because Brad Allen’s crew would be absolutely pissing me off right now with these wild calls.

Brad Allen really wants you guys to know that he’s officiating the game today.

Brad Allen’s crew again seems to have no idea what it is doing.

Earlier in the week fans were surprised to find that Allen had been assigned to another primetime game after the debacle of last Saturday. But as it turns out, that assignment had been in place since way earlier in the season.
The game is being played on ABC and ESPN.
