The Arizona Cardinals made arguably the most surprising move of the night, trading their first-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens for wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. Hours later, they made another big move.
On Friday, the Cardinals picked up the fifth-year option on their newly-minted wide receiver. It’s a bit of a no-brainer as this would have been his final year under contract otherwise.
Arizona gave up the No. 23 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft in exchange for Brown and the Ravens’ third-round pick. The move also reunited Brown with his former college quarterback, Kyler Murray.
In three seasons, Brown has 195 receptions for 2,361 yards and 21 touchdowns. This past year was arguably the best of his young career as he had 91 receptions for 1,008 yards – career highs – and six touchdowns.

By all indicators, the move was a massive W for the Arizona Cardinals. Not only did their bolster their already solid receiving corps even more, they may have simultaneously fixed their issues with seemingly-disgruntled quarterback Kyler Murray.
The move was a little bit more controversial in Baltimore, with Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson pretty clearly calling out the Ravens for making the move.
But Kyler and Brown appear happy to be reunited. And it looks like the two will be working together for the next two seasons.
Who do you think won the Marquise Brown trade? Arizona or Baltimore?
