The Kansas City Chiefs are going to need all hands on deck if they hope to beat the Baltimore Ravens and advance to their fourth Super Bowl in five years. That makes the current injury to star running back Isiah Pacheco somewhat worrying.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced that Pacheco would not be practicing today due to a toe injury. However, Reid said that the injury is “getting better” and expressed some optimism for his status heading into the AFC Championship Game.
“#Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco won’t practice today because of a toe injury, per Andy Reid, who says it’s ‘getting better,'” Pelissero wrote.
Pacheco accounted for more than half of the Chiefs’ rushing yards this past year. His 1,179 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns were both the most on the team.
He proved invaluable in their playoff wins over both the Bills and the Dolphins, scoring two touchdowns and over 180 rushing yards over the two games.

Suffice it to say, Isiah Pacheco’s absence would be felt pretty heavily on the box score if he winds up missing the game.
Will Pacheco be at 100-percent for the AFC Championship Game this weekend?
