Fox Sports pundit Colin Cowherd was watching the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft closely last night. After half a day to dwell on it, he’s identified the players who found the “perfect” landing spot.
On Friday’s edition of The Herd, Cowherd began discussing which players are in the best spot to succeed. The one pick he singled out was the Steelers taking Kenny Pickett 20th overall.
“They’ve got the receivers in Pittsburgh, they’ve got a great young tight end, an excellent young running back and front seven. He doesn’t have to carry the franchise,” Cowherd said.
But there were four other players that he believes also found the right spot to thrive: Aidan Hutchinson to the Detroit Lions, Jordan Davis to the Philadelphia Eagles and both Tyler Linderbaum and Kyle Hamilton to the Baltimore Ravens.
Those four as well as Pickett would not surprise Cowherd if they do well or even become stars for their new teams.

It’s hard to argue with the picks there. A lot of teams found a lot of value in the first round. The fact that eight teams made multiple first round picks definitely helped some get even better at key positions.
But the NFL Draft can often be a crapshoot as well. If we had a nickel for every player predicted to be a star that flopped, we’d all be very wealthy people.
It’s going to take a year or more to know for sure which players were the right fit.
Right now though, things look good for those five guys.
